Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD200 Optical Encoder presents a superior solution for rotary encoder feedback, particularly useful in applications typically utilizing modular encoders. With an overall length of just 0.93" and the robust stability of a bearing encoder design, this model can deliver substantial performance enhancements in scenarios traditionally limited by modular encoder solutions.

Outputs consist of a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, both of which can be set up with either the standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the more flexible 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.

Designed with a flexible spring mount, the QD200 can tolerate much greater tail shaft run out than what is usually possible with modular encoder designs, also providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.

The housing, made from conductive carbon fiber composite, ensures the EMI shielding expected from an all-metal housing while maintaining optimal performance.
