Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD200 Optical Encoder serves as an improved rotary encoder feedback solution in applications that conventionally use modular encoders. Having an overall length of just 0.93" and the stability that comes with a bearing encoder design, the QD200 model can contribute significantly towards enhancing performance in applications that are otherwise limited by traditional modular encoder solutions.
It offers outputs in the form of a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation. These outputs can be configured with either the standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver prevalent in the industry or the versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
The design features a flexible spring mount that can handle much greater tail shaft run out than is possible with modular encoder designs and also facilitates 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The device boasts a housing made from a conductive carbon fiber composite, providing the EMI shielding you'd expect from an all-metal housing, while ensuring top-notch performance.
