The QD200 Optical Encoder model from Quantum Devices, Inc. provides an enhanced rotary encoder feedback solution typically found in applications using modular encoders. With an overall length of just 0.93" and the unwavering stability of a bearing encoder design, the QD200 model can bring substantial performance improvements in applications traditionally limited by modular encoder solutions.
Outputs include a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, both configurable with either the industrial standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
The design of the QD200 incorporates a flexible spring mount that supports much more tail shaft run out than is usually possible with modular encoder designs, and it provides 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. The housing, made from conductive carbon fiber composite, ensures the EMI shielding typically associated with all-metal housing, while maintaining exceptional performance.
