The QD200 Optical Encoder by Quantum Devices, Inc. offers an advanced rotary encoder feedback solution, typically suited to applications using modular encoders. With a slim overall length of 0.93" and the stability inherent to a bearing encoder design, the QD200 model can bring about significant performance upgrades in applications usually limited by traditional modular encoder solutions.
The outputs provided include a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, and can be configured to work with either the industrial standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver for added flexibility.
The design features a flexible spring mount capable of handling a far larger tail shaft run out than what modular encoder designs can usually cope with, while also providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The conductive carbon fiber composite construction of the device's housing assures the EMI shielding commonly associated with an all-metal housing, and does not compromise on delivering high performance.
