The QD145 Optical Encoder by Quantum Devices, Inc. offers an enhanced feedback solution in applications typically dominated by modular encoders. With an overall height of a mere 0.87" and the consistent stability of a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model can bring about substantial performance upgrades in applications where traditional modular encoder solutions have been a limiting factor.
Output configurations include a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation. These outputs can be set to work with either the standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver common in the industry, or the 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver for added flexibility. A flexible component in the design makes room for a larger tail shaft run out than typical modular encoder designs can handle, while also facilitating 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. The device's housing, made from conductive carbon fiber composite, presents the EMI shielding characteristic of an all-metal housing, yet ensures the performance advantage of a lightweight and durable assembly.
