Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD145 Optical Encoder serves as a robust feedback solution for applications normally employing modular encoders. With a slim height of just 0.87" and the robust stability of a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model offers considerable performance enhancements in circumstances that are usually limited by regular modular encoder solutions.

The output configurations feature a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, adaptable to either the industry standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the flexible 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. The flexible component can handle larger tail shaft run out compared to typical modular encoder designs, in addition to providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. Its housing, crafted from conductive carbon fiber composite, delivers the EMI shielding characteristic of an all-metal housing, whilst offering the benefits of a lightweight and robust assembly.
