Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD145 Optical Encoder represents an advanced feedback solution in applications that typically depend on modular encoders. With a minimal overall height of 0.87" and the robustness of a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model can provide significant performance improvements in scenarios that are constrained by traditional modular encoder solutions.
The outputs are comprised of a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, which can be configured with either the industrial standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. The flexible component is capable of tolerating a much larger tail shaft run out compared to modular encoder designs and provides 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. Its housing, constructed from conductive carbon fiber composite, delivers the EMI shielding of an all-metal housing, while preserving the performance of a lightweight, durable assembly.
