Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD145 Optical Encoder provides a more effective feedback solution for applications usually utilizing modular encoders. With its compact height of only 0.87” and the stability provided by a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model can offer considerable performance enhancements in applications constrained by conventional modular encoder solutions.
The outputs consist of a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, configurable with either the industry-standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. Its flexible member accommodates far greater tail shaft run out than traditional modular encoder designs, and also provides 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. Its conductive carbon fiber composite housing provides the EMI shielding of a full metal enclosure, while maintaining the high performance of a lightweight yet sturdy assembly.
