Its high line count resolution, robust bearing construction, and a substantial tolerance for radial and axial shaft play set the HR12 apart. It features commutation for brushless motor control, a strain-relieved cable, and quadrature output with an index pulse and three-phase commutation courtesy of industrial 26C31 differential drivers. Its flexible member design caters to larger tail shaft run out and TIR than that typically handled by modular encoders, providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing as well.
