With commutation for brushless motor control and a strain-relieved cable, it is a practical and reliable choice. Industrial 26C31 differential drivers provide quadrature output with an index pulse and three-phase commutation. The flexible member design allows for greater tail shaft run out and TIR than typically tolerated by modular encoders, along with providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
