The DS-70 Absolute Rotary Encoder features a hollow floating shaft and avoids bearing contacts, contributing to its durability. It provides a high angular resolution of 19-21 bits and boasts an extended accuracy of ±0.006°.
With a robust construction using TRVX-50 material, it has a significant rotor inertia of 1,940 gr·mm² and weighs 49 grams. The DS-70 operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, ensuring consistent performance under diverse environmental conditions.
Its electrical specifications include a supply voltage of 5V ±5% and a current consumption of around 90 mA. Connectivity is facilitated through a #30 shielded cable, SSi/BiSS-C communication, binary output code, and differential RS-422 serial output.
The DS-70 meets EMC standards (IEC 6100-6-2, IEC 6100-6-4) and is designed to withstand shocks up to 100 g for 11 ms and vibrations in the range of 20 g (10 – 2000 Hz) as per MIL-STD-810G, with an IP 40 protection rating. This encoder is suitable for applications requiring precise and stable performance in challenging environments.
