Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD200 Optical Encoder offers an improved rotary encoder feedback solution, typically useful in applications using modular encoders. The compact size of 0.93" and the robust stability of a bearing encoder design make this model capable of delivering considerable performance upgrades in scenarios usually limited by traditional modular encoder solutions.
Outputs include a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, which can be set up with either the industry standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the flexible 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
The design includes a flexible spring mount that allows for more tail shaft run out than can be tolerated by typical modular encoder designs, and also provides 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The housing, constructed from conductive carbon fiber composite, offers the EMI shielding of an all-metal housing while delivering top-notch performance.
