The Si5580 is a programmable stepper drive/indexer packaged in a rugged steel case. Integral heat sink, mounting brackets, and mating connectors are included with each drive. The Si5580 is recommended for use with NEMA 23 and 34 frame step motors and comes with all operating software necessary to create a complete stepper motion solution.
The Si5580 includes our Si Programmer™ software for quick set up and easy programming. Si programming is ideal for stand-alone operation. For more experienced users with software development expertise, the Si5580 also operates in SCL mode, which permits controlling the drive and motor by streaming serial commands from a host PC or PLC, thus allowing the user to command all drive functions from the host software application.
Multiple axis applications are handled by our SiNet™ Hub multi-axis controllers and the SiNet Hub Programmer™ software application, which give users the ability to control up to 8 drives from a single program. You can also use our MMI operator interface to allow machine operators to enter specific motion parameters.
Factory set for 110 VAC operation, the Si5580 can be set by the user for 220 VAC operation with a single switch. Pluggable screw terminal blocks are provided for I/O, motor, and AC power connections. Mating connectors, programming cable, and software are provided with each drive.
The drive is protected from over-temperature conditions as well as motor over-current and short circuit conditions.
