The QD200 Optical Encoder by Quantum Devices, Inc. serves as an advanced rotary encoder feedback solution, often used in applications that require modular encoders. This model, with an overall length of 0.93" and the consistent stability of a bearing encoder design, can drive substantial performance improvements in scenarios typically restricted by conventional modular encoder solutions.
Outputs include a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, both configurable with either the standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
Thanks to its design featuring a flexible spring mount, the QD200 allows for greater tail shaft run out than what modular encoder designs can handle, also providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The housing, constructed from conductive carbon fiber composite, offers the EMI shielding common with all-metal housing, without any loss in performance.
