Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD200 Optical Encoder offers an improved rotary encoder feedback solution, typically useful in applications employing modular encoders. With a sleek length of 0.93" and the stability of a bearing encoder design, the QD200 model stands to deliver significant performance enhancements in situations traditionally limited by conventional modular encoder solutions.
The encoder's outputs consist of a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, configurable with either the standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the more adaptable 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
The design integrates a flexible spring mount that can accommodate greater tail shaft run out than modular encoder designs usually allow, along with 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The housing, constructed from conductive carbon fiber composite, ensures the EMI shielding usually associated with all-metal housing, while preserving superior performance.
