The QD200 Optical Encoder by Quantum Devices, Inc. provides an enhanced rotary encoder feedback solution typically beneficial in applications using modular encoders. With a compact length of 0.93" and the stability inherent to a bearing encoder design, this model is set to offer considerable performance upgrades in scenarios generally limited by traditional modular encoder solutions.
Outputs include a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, which can be set up with either the 5 volt RS422A Line Driver industry standard or the flexible 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
The design features a flexible spring mount that allows for more tail shaft run out than typical modular encoder designs, while providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The housing, built from conductive carbon fiber composite, offers the EMI shielding characteristic of an all-metal housing, without any compromise in performance.
