Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD200 Optical Encoder presents a superior solution for rotary encoder feedback in applications typically utilizing modular encoders. With an overall length of a mere 0.93" and the stability of a bearing encoder design, this model is capable of bringing substantial performance improvements in areas traditionally hindered by modular encoder solutions.
Outputs comprise a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, configurable with either a standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or a versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
The design includes a flexible spring mount for greater tail shaft run out than what is usually possible with modular encoder designs, along with 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The housing, made from conductive carbon fiber composite, provides the EMI shielding expected of an all-metal housing while maintaining optimal performance.
