The Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD200 Optical Encoder is an enhanced rotary encoder feedback solution, usually used in applications that deploy modular encoders. With a compact overall length of 0.93", the QD200 model, endowed with the stability of a bearing encoder design, can make a significant impact on performance improvements in applications traditionally bound by modular encoder solutions.
The device's output consists of a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, which can be configured with either the industrial standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the flexible 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
The design includes a flexible spring mount which accommodates a much greater tail shaft run out than modular encoder designs can tolerate, and provides 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The device's housing, constructed from conductive carbon fiber composite, ensures the EMI shielding typically associated with an all-metal housing, while maintaining high performance.
