The QD200 Optical Encoder from Quantum Devices, Inc. presents an enhanced rotary encoder feedback solution for applications typically employing modular encoders. With its compact length of 0.93" and the stability provided by a bearing encoder design, the QD200 model can deliver substantial performance improvements in scenarios traditionally constrained by modular encoder solutions.
The output of the device is a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, configurable with either the industrial standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the flexible 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver.
A flexible spring mount is incorporated in the design, accommodating much larger tail shaft run out than what can be tolerated by modular encoder designs, and offering 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing.
The housing of the device is constructed from a conductive carbon fiber composite, providing the EMI shielding of an all-metal housing, while still achieving high performance.
