Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD145 Optical Encoder is an advanced feedback solution, typically replacing modular encoders in various applications. With its compact height of just 0.87" and the sturdy stability of a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model is capable of offering significant performance enhancements in scenarios traditionally limited by conventional modular encoder solutions.
The outputs consist of a quadrature with a reference pulse and three-phase commutation, compatible with either the industry-standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the adaptable 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. A flexible member in the design allows for much larger tail shaft run out than that allowed by typical modular encoder designs and provides an additional 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. The device's housing, made from a conductive carbon fiber composite, ensures the EMI shielding associated with an all-metal housing while ensuring the high performance of a lightweight and robust assembly.
