The QD145 Optical Encoder, by Quantum Devices, Inc., is a cutting-edge feedback solution typically employed in applications that use modular encoders. With a compact height of only 0.87" and the proven reliability of a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model offers significant performance upgrades in scenarios that might be limited by standard modular encoder solutions.
It provides output configurations of a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation. These configurations can be set up with either the industry standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. A flexible member enables greater tail shaft run out than is usually tolerated by modular encoder designs, and it also allows 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. The housing, made from conductive carbon fiber composite, offers the EMI shielding benefits of an all-metal housing, along with the high-performance attributes of a lightweight, durable assembly.
