The QD145 Optical Encoder, brought to you by Quantum Devices, Inc., offers a revamped feedback solution for applications traditionally relying on modular encoders. With its compact height of only 0.87" and the dependability of a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model can provide considerable performance advancements in applications that might be limited by standard modular encoder solutions.
Output configurations include a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, compatible with either the 5 volt RS422A Line Driver (an industry standard) or the versatile 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. A flexible member, much more accommodating for tail shaft run out than conventional modular encoder designs, also provides 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. The housing, composed of conductive carbon fiber composite, offers the EMI shielding you'd expect from an all-metal housing, combined with the performance and lightweight durability of a composite assembly.
