Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD145 Optical Encoder provides an enhanced feedback solution for applications that typically employ modular encoders. With an overall height of just 0.87" and the stability inherent to a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model can significantly improve performance in applications where traditional modular encoder solutions are a limiting factor.
The outputs comprise a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, and can be configured with either the industry-standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. A flexible member provides significantly greater tail shaft run out than what is typically tolerated by modular encoder designs, and offers 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. The encoder's housing is constructed from conductive carbon fiber composite, which provides the EMI shielding of an all-metal housing while delivering the performance of a lightweight, robust assembly.
