Quantum Devices, Inc.'s QD145 Optical Encoder represents an upgraded feedback solution for applications typically dependent on modular encoders. With a slim overall height of 0.87” and the robustness of a bearing encoder design, the QD145 model is capable of delivering significant performance upgrades in applications that are constrained by standard modular encoder solutions.
Outputs consist of a quadrature with reference pulse and three-phase commutation, which can be adapted with either the industry-standard 5 volt RS422A Line Driver or the 5 to 26 volt OL7272 line driver. A flexible member allows for a greater tail shaft run out than what is typically tolerable by modular encoder designs, as well as providing 30 degrees of rotation for commutation timing. The housing, made from conductive carbon fiber composite, provides the EMI shielding of an all-metal housing while offering the performance of a lightweight yet sturdy assembly.
