Distance Couplings
Distance couplings, also known as drive shaft couplings or line shaft couplings, are precision machined to the required length and are balanced for high speeds. They can span axial lengths of 20ft without the need for additional intermediate bearings.
Their special design allows for simple installation which make “one person only assembly” possible. Even at these long distances, they remain zero backlash, torsionally stiff, and compensate for shaft misalignments to prevent premature bearing failures.
Gam Distance Couplings
GAM distance couplings are designed for one-person installation and are precision machined to the necessary length and balanced for high speeds. They can cover lengths up to 20 feet, compensate for misalignment, and have zero backlash. GAM offers several series of distance couplings:
