Applied Motion Products began in 1978 with a handful of step motor customers in the Silicon Valley disk drive business. Today, Applied Motion serves a wide variety of industrial markets with a comprehensive offering of integrated motion control systems, AC and DC input stepper drives & motors and AC and DC input servo drives & motors.
Applied Motion Products' stepper & servo drives are offered in both packaged & open frame DC input and AC input versions, and communicate via RS-232, RS-485, CANopen or Ethernet.
Stepper drives are available in full/half step and microstepping versions. Options include: pulse and direction control, stand-alone control, object oriented programming via AMP's Si Programmer software, and the new powerful Q Programmer software which supports math functions. A full line of complimentary step motors from sizes NEMA 8 to NEMA 42 are also available.
STM integrated drive+motors fuse step motor and drive components into a single device. These integrated steppers offer a space-saving design that reduces wiring and saves on cost over separate motor and drive components. STM integrated steppers, in NEMA 17, 23, and 24 frame sizes, combine the best of Applied Motion’s drive and motor offering in a single, integrated device.
Intended for use in stand-alone applications, the Si Programmer™ software provides quick and easy programming with an extremely friendly, point-and-click interface that does not require any software programming experience. Si Programmer™ works with both stepper and servo drives.
Q Programmer™ is a single-axis motion control software for programmable stepper and servo drives from Applied Motion Products. The software allows users to create sophisticated and functional programs that Q and Plus drives can run stand-alone.
If you plan to stream serial commands to an Applied Motion Products drive using the Serial Command Language (SCL), you’ll need a simple terminal emulator to get familiar with and test your command strings. SCL Utility is the ideal choice because it sends command strings as a packet, with minimal delay between characters, and properly terminated with a carriage return.
